Hello World. This is the first post to my Move2Charleston Blog. Don’t wish to steal the thunder from the about section, but we have to start somewhere. First and foremost, I want to help people make the decision to Move2Charleston, because we love it so much and want to help people, and because there is the hopeful expectation that some of you will grow to trust me enough to make me the real estate agent you choose to handle your matters and those of your friends. Sorry about the shameless promotion by mentioning Move2Charleston. www.Move2Charleston.com is one of our real estate infomration websites where you can access general area information, including all the MLS listings in the Charleston Area. Also, I want to introduce you to my new “Lens”. More about what a “Lens” is later. Anyway, to see what I mean, visit http://www.squidoo.com/move2charleston/ .
Having had some less than stellar personal experiences on the customer side of real estate, the thought of becoming an agent myself never occurred to me. I never really thought very highly of them, honestly, and not quite sure where I developed this perception. Later, though, these perceptions were reinforced with reality with the general feeling that no one was really on my side, no matter what the relationship.
Anyway, Cara and I absolutely love living in Charleston and hope to help some of you make the plunge. Moving is a big decision, especially if you’re moving away from family. It’s one thing to move for a job, and quite another to simply make a lifestyle move…hoping to secure employment at the chosen destination. So, we wanted to know what problems some of you are facing. If you need a job, there probably is not a lot we can do to help. We have a couple of contacts along these lines, but not many. If you need help picking a community from long distance, that we can help with. And if you’re trying to figure out if it’s really worth all the trouble, that too we can help with. We will share the good, the bad and the ugly about the different communities, as well as individual neighborhoods. And we want to hear from you. People visit and return to blogs, not so much to hear from the host, but to listen to what other people have to say that have similar interests or problems.
I also wanted to mention that if you’re into blogging and are looking for some good ideas with which to promote your agenda, I want to highly recommend www.squidoo.com. Lenses are a new approach to communication that just might be the next evolution in globalized communication. Stay in touch. I’ll let you know how it’s going.
